How do we Identify the species?
​
Trying to figure out what animal in attic or walls can be challenging if you do not know what to look for. There are several ways to identify the species. First, location of entry. The size of the hole and how the hole was made are key identifiers for what is living in the hole. The second identifier is animal feces. We are trained to be able to identify the wildlife based on the size and shape of their feces (poop). The third way we identify the species is footprints. Animals often leave footprints in the dust or snow which makes their identity easily known.

Can more than one animal be living in the same area?

Yes. It is very common for more than one animal to be living in the same area. If one animal has found the location to be ideal for nesting odds are great that other animals will find the area perfect as well. Raccoons are often living in the same attic as squirrels. When we do our inspection we are looking for signs of more than one species that could be living together. Those untrained in wildlife identify can be confused as to what pest is actually causing the problem which can lead to wasted money trying to removal using the wrong types of traps or doors.
